The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk & Coffee

Milk and Coffee Adventures

This is actually a dream come true!

Last July, I opened a new domain on wordpress to give space to my much awaiting comics, which is The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk and Coffee. It’s a bunch of Filipino (Tagalog) comic strips that focuses on the friendship of the characters Milk and Coffee and friends.

The story line came out of no where, when I kept on wearing my weird shades and I started drawing my mini me. That’s explain why ‘Coffee’ had this bug-eye/heart-shaped shades. While the other characters are based on people I encounter and some friends.

The comics is in Tagalog, so sorry for the English-speaking fellas who are following me. It’s actually a risk because I don’t have an idea how it will go since I’m never familiar with the local SEO and how the new site’s Google ranking will climb up. Plus the fact that it’ll be composed of mostly images, I think it will be a great challenge for me.

But anyway, to my Filipino friends here, please support The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk and Coffee. I’d appreciate it if you will follow and like our posts both on blogs and Facebook.

Just kindly go to these link and hit like:

This blog will never close, by the way. I have plenty of poems to share to you, so please, please stay tuned!

I have had a change of plan this week. I’ve decided to stay at home and just spend my rest day with my Hubb. Well, we were supposed to go to a friend’s house but I didn’t feel like pushing the plan because I just came from my shift – graveyard – and I needed some rest.

This day was full of gray moments – not so happy, not so sad – enough for me to say that it was just neutral. It was like there was nothing so special happening. And since this gray day affects my mood, it affects my fashion taste as well.

Shirt. Bag, Shoes. Undies (picture not included)

I didn’t plan to wear it. I just pulled what attracts me in my closet and racks, and just wear it. I just noticed I was wearing everything gray when my colleague told me so. Now, I, therefore, believe that mood reflects to your everyday wear; vice versa.

What makes me gray, anyway?

I don’t have an idea, to be honest. It seems that everything rhymes to fashion these days, even though I have limited choices inside my super confined wardrobe. One time, I’ve worn all stripes; the following day, I’ve worn something light and relaxed. I just thank God dots don’t attract me so far.

Anyway, to end my day right, I need to get rid of this dull moment, that’s why I write and I do what I love and eat more doughnuts. I’m still not in the mood to go somewhere else, though.

T-shirt: Folded and Hung. Bag: Human. Shoes: Somewhere there.

Make fun of other people = BAD. Make fun of yourself = Indeed, FUN.

I did this old “Ejomlexus blogspot” reminiscing moment last night since I could not get myself a sleep for some reason. It wasn’t my intention at all to re-read my previous blog site. It’s just that I could not think of any website to open to get myself into sleep, that’s why I ended up checking my blogspot posts.

A few minutes after I opened my old blog, I found myself giggling about my crappy English and some old pictures. To give you an overview, here are the things I found. (Just a reminder, though: I won’t post the links anymore, just seach it if you can. Hehehe!)

So here we go…

These photos were taken last 2009 Christmas Party at my previous company. This was our group presentation. Mama Rea, Rachel, Toto, Ruel and I played the casts of Dreamgirls. For those curious, prepare yourself, here’s the complete video:

And this is me before the presentation. I played as “Melo” of Deathnote. I didn’t win the best contest, obviously. But we won the best group performance.

Job Requirements — Hassle!

Looking for a new job is a tough thing to do. But when you get hired, you have to face another series of hardship — that’s collecting the requirements.

Well, I haven’t found a new job yet. It’s just that Andrei has moved to a more established BPO company that’s why he’s required to complete a number of requirements. And when you say “requirements”, expect a large number of people on queue, a very long wait time and tremendous traffic hours. Since most of these offices don’t operate 24 hours, we have to face the fact that we’re going to deal with all these in the morning.

That means, “Hello, Sunshine!”

Good thing, it’s aircon now in some government offices, especially the BIR office in Makati and on Shaw Blvd., and the clinics are located inside the malls. We were able to make use of the free air-conditioner and free-wifi and free water.

The hassle part though was the NBI clearance application. At the Big-R (Robinson’s mall) in Junction, Cainta, Rizal, the freaking queue starts at 3 in the morning. Well, the mall opens at 9 in the morning, but they can only serve up to 400 slots, that’s why people go there early to get the first numbers. If you’re not lucky enough, you could get the last number wherein they could serve you around 5 in the afternoon. If you’re in a hurry, you’re dead.

Later on, we found out that there’s an online application for NBI. But it will be processed in NBI Taft-Manila office, which a bit far from Antipolo.

How? Well, you can click here to direct you to the NBI online application site.

What’s with April???

Technically, it’s April fools’day. I don’t have the intention to go out of the house because I don’t feel like being someone else’s target to be jackassed today. Well, the event is not that being practiced here in the Philippines. But since most of the times, I rub elbows with call-center-oriented people, I’d rather be at home or at starbucks where it’s safe.

Today is also the Palm Sunday. Streets near the Antipolo church are crowded with Catholics who go the church to have their “palaspas” blessed by the priests. It’s an important day for the Catholics because it’s part of their so called lenten season. By thursday, roads will be crowded again because people from different places will offer a sacrificial walk towards the Antipolo church.

At the office, adventure continues. Even though this week is considered as holiday and vacation week for the rest of the pinoys, I still have work since the company operates 24/7. Ironically, I am assigned to take care of the afternoon shift — time when most of the people occupy half of the streets during these days. No jeeps, just on their feet. Well, I just hope that it wouldn’t be the reason for me to be late at work. Free food will be served, though — I wish — that’s the best part.

By the way, for Starbucks fan out there, it’s time for you to use your Coupn this April… “Purchas a Starbucks RECYCLED tumbler (any size) and receive a complimentary tall handcrafted beverage on us”. Valid only until the end of the Month. (This is real! Check your planners!)

Enjoy April!

Good Year Starter!

I was reading this old Reader’s Digest issue because of one thing…

…I don’t have a job anymore.

Long bloody reason if I’m gonna discuss it here. But to give you a hint, let’s thank the global recession for giving me a long vacation.

Right now, I could say that I enjoy life far from the rush hour traffic and other BS on the streets. I started the day right with a prayer and a kiss to my Hubby. I’m not planning to look for a job yet, because shopping is on top my priority. Perhaps, I’ll start opening my Jobstreet account after a month, and hopefully, I’d find a better one.

As we speak, my hubby and I went to SM San Lazaro and guess what I’ve bought… Well, you’ll find it out on my next post. But aside from buying that thing, I talked to my brother about my status, hoping that they would understand if I won’t give them money. I just promised them that I would give money as soon as I get a part time job.

Hmmm…I’m excited for my next post.

Broken Plan

Unfortunately, due to money delay, I wasn’t able to buy my Galaxy Tab 8.9 this Christmas. It was a broken plan for me. But I pray and hope that the people who owe me that money could give it at least at the end of the month. And if it’s really unfeasible this month, I hope I could get the whole money to me by next month – please not in installment.

It’s quite disappointing because I was really expecting it. Good thing, I had a little savings, which was supposed to be my money for Tab, but I used it to buy Christmas presents.

I still had a great time this Christmas, though. But it could have been much more fun if I was sliding my finger on the screen and taking pictures using my Galaxy Tab.

Well, I guess that’s life for now. I should move on.
