Interlude: Going Back to What I Love

During my recent reminiscing — or let’s say a contemplation or realization session all by myself– moment in my bed, I realized that I have lost so much things and opportunities in my life that I should have been doing in the past few years before I reach this certain level of my age. Maybe if I have been doing these certain things I like, I perhaps master those fields already and i

One of those skills I’d like to highlight is none other than swimming.

I love water a lot. I enjoy being at the beach, to feel its waves and other health benefit it gives me, and I thought of it every time people mention about going out of town. I also enjoy lap training in swimming pools. But that skill didn’t work out that well, because I didn’t practice regularly. I felt it like it’s my dying skill.

To give solution to that and to revive my frustrated Olympic swimming skills, I just came back from my so called “training”.

During the training, I could literally feel the horse beneath the shortness of my breath, the lack of movement control in the water and my speed has gone bye-bye. The thing remained in me is my gift for backstroke — I still does it good. To be honest, I think I’m one of those who needs a trainer to know the basics again.

I don’t easily give up, though. I just feel the need to get things back again, just to make sure that I won’t get rotten and I won’t go home defeated in the upcoming company sportsfest.

So if you are reading this and you’re still doing something you love, I’ve got a great tip: “DO NOT STOP!” But if you must do, do all things you can to start it all over again. Never remove it from the corners of your neck.

Interlude: Gayest Exercise Machine Ever!

I don’t know how it became a gay machine, but the “Tunay Na Lalake” (Real Men) blog says it is “not for real men.”

Watch watch watch…

My officemate and I saw one of these at Glorieta/Landmark in Makati. I should have tested it to see if the product claims are real.

But anyway, speaking of exercise, I have already decided to go back to my daily healthy routine again by lifting some weights at home. My target is to gain the weight I’ve lost during my depression days. Right now, I think I’m already putting on some weight as my monstrous appetite has come back in game already.

I just pray this is it…

XOXOXOXOXO

Who is this Parkour Guy?

I was on YouTube Marathon mode when my brother asked me to watch this video.

After Parkour Training

My Parkour training went well today.

We are almost done with the lectures about the rolling, jumping and landing. I volunteered to try it in front of everybody, and thank God my bones didn’t crack. My co-newbies had fun too.

Anyways, I was tired and it was just 10:30AM. I needed to stay awake for my whole day [house] activities and for my Encantadia YouTube Marathon. Although I had my breakfast, my tummy got hungry because of all those basic parkour things. Imagine the calories I burned in this kind of sport.

Of course, I went to Starbucks to grab my yummy faves…

Getting into Parkour

I really went crazy about this sport.

I received a text from a co-member asking me to go on training with them.

So there, I went to Datu Shrine at Luneta Park, Manila in full battle gear (sport shorts, rubber shoes, sports gloves and comfy tees) to attend my very first Parkour informal training session.

I called it informal session because that was organized by the members who just want to do some training by themselves. No real organizer was present that time. And as a beginner, I just watched everything and asked lots of questions.

They asked me to try some stunts but I was shy. Well, it’s my first time to be there. I was still trying to adapt the environment of my new hobby. I joined their warms-ups, though. I was able to do some egg-rolls, push-ups and many more. Good thing, I prepared my muscles for that in the past few days.

Sports? Me?

I’ve got a change of heart. I will say bye-bye PC games for a while, and will say hello sports!

Yeah, you read it right. I’m getting sports minded now.

And when I say sports the first thing that comes to my head is being a “Traceur”.

(Say what?)
