Andrei’s Galaxy Ace Plus

I bought Galaxy Ace Plus for Andrei a couple of days ago. It was supposed to be my anniversary gift for him. But since I was broke last January due to the lay-off and had lots of financial priorities, it became a super late gift. He understood, though, because he too had stuff to deal with. The original plan was supposed to be a blackberry phone. But I didn’t know what ran into his head that he chose an Android phone. All I knew is that he kept on watching phone reviews on Youtube, which made me a bit paranoid because it was digging my conscience. I was like telling myself “I need to buy him a new phone now! I need to buy him a new phone now!”

But they say, everything comes in a perfect time, hence, the new phone!

Instagram 101 — part 2

To be honest, I’m starting to love Instagram. It goes well with my Camer360 shots. I didn’t know the two would be a great combination.

And before I write something about Instagram as a social network site, here are some of my sample shots:

I used Nashville effect in most of the photos; my favorite.

By the way, above is our new puppy, Sanchai. She was a gift from one of our neighbors. I ain’t familiar with her breed, since I wasn’t at home when she was given to us. She’s very cute, though, isn’t she?

3D Movies… And Titanic 3D trailer?

There are 2 movies I need to watch in 3D on this month: First, Marvel’s “The Avengers”. Then, the Hunger games.

And before I watch any movies, I make sure that I watch the trailer first, just to give myself an idea about what’s the movie all about and who the main casts are. Therefore, I browse youtube for such videos.

After watching the trailers, I found another fun made trailer, actually a parody, for the upcoming remake of Titanic 3D. Check it out…

Hahahaha! This was well made! I feel like going upside down while laughing. Kudos for creators!

Instagram 101 — part 1

On my previous post about the new apps I downloaded for my Galaxy Tab 8.9, I’ve mentioned that I got disappointed on Instagram features and was actually expecting a lot from it. Not to mention again the thought of replacing Camera360 with Instagram was a bad idea.

Just to clarify, this post is not just about Instagram “versus” another camera application or to discourage you to download it. But it’s more like elaborating what it has and what it lacks, and so as its advantages and disadvantages. And since I got Camera360 from the first place, I’ll be doing a bit of comparison for us to know which is the best to download.

Okay, so let’s get started.

History

Instagram was first exclusively developed for iPhones, and is currently being developed for Blackberry devices and other mobile OS. You might’ve seen lots of iPhone owners synchronizing their social networks with it and posting lots of extravagant images. It was just recently announced that it could be downloaded in Android Market (or now known as Google Play).

On the other hand, Camera360 has been a best friend of Android devices ever since it was developed. Although it wasn’t popular as Instagram, it created dynamic changes on camera effects for Android devices.

Good thing about these applications is that they are both free and ready to be downloaded.

So let’s go now with the features

New Apps Now Available for Android Devices

I’m beginning to look for more fun, free games and apps at Android Market as well as at the Samsung App market. Recently, they just added NFS, Temple Run and, the famous camera app for iPhones, the Instagram. Of course, I have them all now in my list, plus I downloaded some writing and music stuff for additional entertainment.

Need For Speed Shift, from EA, gives you great racing experience that allows you to drive and drift cars by stirring your device. Graphic is close to perfect. But if you’re easy to get sick with lots of motions, this is not adviceable for you.

Personally, I’m a bit senstive when it comes to movement but this one is jusy fine for me. I spend almost two hours for it everyday but I never got dizzy. I saw this on app on James Younghusband’s tweet. I just went curious when I found this on Samsung App store. Besides, Andrei loves racing games that’s why he plays it more than I do.

While Temple Run gives me a rush of adrenaline. It reminds me of the Playstation game called Pepsiman. This game requires your alertness to perform jumps, turns and slides in order to dodge obstacles and escape from the monkeys. I recommend this to those who want exciting rush.

On the other hand, Instagram. I was expecting a lot from this app. I thought it would replace the camera360 on my Galaxy Tab 8.9 but I was wrong. All it does is too edit your photos into limited effects and share it to different social networks including the the instagrams’ website.

Power of Megapixel – Holy Week

Holyweek was a blast. Although my mood was not that boombastic as the long weekend, I still managed to do some stuff to keep lenten season a bit solemn. What I did is that I put it all in pictures…

You know, pictures are quiet — no sound, no motion.

This chicken here. Well, he was a super model. I got this perfect while he was observing what I’m doing.

Friends also visited us at home. So we had a good time together and been to the church to pray.

Here was a shot from inside an FX (cab). I was on my way home from work.

These two? I know I should’ve got rid of this during the week. But these were my thirst quenchers and I have already asked for forgiveness about this.

To tell you what, I’m still tired because of that long walk. I just drew some stuff on my sketch pad just to make my whole being relaxed.

Antipolo Holy Week

My legs are still tired because of the long walk I’ve been through last Thursday night, after my shift. I was not really planning to join the people for this pentential walk because I just got from work, but I had no choice since walkers had occupied both north and south bound, and no vehicle were allowed to pass through the Ortigas extension (Junction), Tikling (junction of Antipolo, Cainta and Taytay City) and all the way up to Antipolo.

Lots of street food vendors have popped out, that’s why I didn’t get worried about getting hungry or thristy. And, also, 7-11 and other fast foodchains were open along, but they had a box-office lanes, so you would rather buy from the street vendors than to be stock inside there.

I took the oppurtunity to take pictures beside the media and cops, just to have a souvenir of this long walk. Check out how many people were in going up fro Tikling to Antipolo. I was bit scared to take a lot of pics because there might be some snatchers there. You know, my tab is a bit eye catcher.

Lucky these people, they have friends to speak and have fun with, that’s why they didn’t notice how tough the up and down hill drama of the road. As for me, a soloist, I only had this sola bottle as a walking partner.

Bubbly sweat was all over my pits (excuse my french), and my feet had trauma. I enjoyed, though. Never something can replace that experience. But I hope it won’t happen again, unless if I have friends who would join me.

XOXOXOXOXO

Chicago Candy

image

I miss when I call you my candy
And the taste of iodize shot on your body
At the midnight jazz club
— that’s where you left me.

Your sweetness-coated embraces took me.
I never experienced hangover, baby.
As people go partying,
We took the moment talking.

Oh Chicago, I miss you so!
I want that candy you gave me.
I want that sweetness that made me crazy.
Oh Chicago, Im so sorry for leaving!
I didn’t want let you go
But, baby, it’s yours… so take it — Chicago Candy.

Others weren’t as sweet as you are
But you’re the one who can make me a real man.
And beat what you have done
At the midnight jazz club

You cut the cigar from my mouth, oh
Baby, you left me alone here
While crying and begging
For you, my Chicago candy!

Oh Chicago, I miss you so!
I want that candy you gave me.
Oh Chicago, sorry for leaving!
I would let go of that candy
It’s yours, so take it!

What’s with April???

Technically, it’s April fools’day. I don’t have the intention to go out of the house because I don’t feel like being someone else’s target to be jackassed today. Well, the event is not that being practiced here in the Philippines. But since most of the times, I rub elbows with call-center-oriented people, I’d rather be at home or at starbucks where it’s safe.

Today is also the Palm Sunday. Streets near the Antipolo church are crowded with Catholics who go the church to have their “palaspas” blessed by the priests. It’s an important day for the Catholics because it’s part of their so called lenten season. By thursday, roads will be crowded again because people from different places will offer a sacrificial walk towards the Antipolo church.

At the office, adventure continues. Even though this week is considered as holiday and vacation week for the rest of the pinoys, I still have work since the company operates 24/7. Ironically, I am assigned to take care of the afternoon shift — time when most of the people occupy half of the streets during these days. No jeeps, just on their feet. Well, I just hope that it wouldn’t be the reason for me to be late at work. Free food will be served, though — I wish — that’s the best part.

By the way, for Starbucks fan out there, it’s time for you to use your Coupn this April… “Purchas a Starbucks RECYCLED tumbler (any size) and receive a complimentary tall handcrafted beverage on us”. Valid only until the end of the Month. (This is real! Check your planners!)

Enjoy April!
