The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk & Coffee

Milk and Coffee Adventures

This is actually a dream come true!

Last July, I opened a new domain on wordpress to give space to my much awaiting comics, which is The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk and Coffee. It’s a bunch of Filipino (Tagalog) comic strips that focuses on the friendship of the characters Milk and Coffee and friends.

The story line came out of no where, when I kept on wearing my weird shades and I started drawing my mini me. That’s explain why ‘Coffee’ had this bug-eye/heart-shaped shades. While the other characters are based on people I encounter and some friends.

The comics is in Tagalog, so sorry for the English-speaking fellas who are following me. It’s actually a risk because I don’t have an idea how it will go since I’m never familiar with the local SEO and how the new site’s Google ranking will climb up. Plus the fact that it’ll be composed of mostly images, I think it will be a great challenge for me.

But anyway, to my Filipino friends here, please support The Zero Calorie Adventures of Milk and Coffee. I’d appreciate it if you will follow and like our posts both on blogs and Facebook.

Just kindly go to these link and hit like:

Thank you so much!

This blog will never close, by the way. I have plenty of poems to share to you, so please, please stay tuned!

Holiday with Family

I just spent a great holiday with my family and as expected it was fun yet very missing. I haven’t done this before — treat them to an amusement park — so it’s kinda new experience for us. You know, every time we decide to have time with each other, our choice were always food and malls, so we tried to put more fun and excitement to this rare time with my family, that’s why I brought them all to Star City Amusement Park in Manila.

Ticket prices are very reasonable. Ride-all-you-can tickets cost Php400.00 only, you just have to add a few bucks if you wish to visit the Snow World or experience the new attractions like the Lazer Blaster, 4D Theater Max Rider and Z-Planet. But to tell you what, the ride-all-you-can ticket was already enough to enjoy the park (includes the new heart-stopping rides like the star flyer and star Frisbee  and the horror houses) and the once in a day ballerina show at the Aliw Theater. Of course, make sure you go there right at the opening time just to anticipate the long queue for each rides. Going there beyond 5 o’clock PM will get you stuck with more people.

Actually, we were stuck with the bunch of people, perhaps it was because of the holiday. Even the food stores there had long queue of people which made us super hungry. So after watching the beautiful ballerina show, we went out of the park (even if we don’t want to) and took a cab to the seaside along Macapagal highway.

Seaside in Macapagal is a place where people can find a bunch restaurant. Fresh food are there. Just pay the food (seafood, beef, pork, chicken and veggies) per kilo that you wish plus the cooking fees, the food is ready after a few minute. Barkers are on the streets so you can ask them about their menus, if they have service charge, if they can cook the dishes you want or do they have videoke/function room — don’t hesitate to ask.

(We ordered Sinigang na Hipon sa Sampaloc [above photo], grilled Squid with stuffings and Pinaputukang Tilapia)

We dine in at Igmaan. The best one cook restaurant I’ve experienced in Seaside so far. It didn’t take me more than Php2,000.00 to make my whole family super full.

After that, we had a long walk all the way to SM Mall of Asia (MOA) seaside. We thought it was just near because we can see the big globe from Macapagal highway. I swear the road, though, so please take a cab. (Hehehe!)

Ejomlexus Holiday (3)

Ejomlexus Holiday (5)

Well, we went there to see  and ride the giant Ferris wheel. We weren’t able to get a chance though because — thank the long walk — it was already closing time and they’ve already served the last customer when we arrived. So, I ended up treating my family at Starbucks.

Ejomlexus Holiday (17)

We had fun talking at Starbucks. It’s been a long time since I had a wholesome talk with these people. There I discovered that it was just my Mom’s first time to watch a ballerina play, first time to be at Starbucks with us, complete, and first time to stay outside super late just to bond with us and talk. It melted our heart, of course. I just promised to her that we will do this kind of bonding again in the near future — I just have to renovate the house, then we will celebrate again at star city and seaside and MOA — or plan something else more.

Ejomlexus Holiday (4)

Anyway, I just wish that I could spend more time with my family this coming 2013. I’m very thankful that God is giving wonderful opportunities so I could give my family something that they deserve. I wish I could do more than this.

Happy New Year Everyone!

The 1st Filipino Bloggers Worldwide Grand Eyeball

I’M BACK!

securedownload

I was supposed to be in the office yesterday but I filed my vacation leave to give way to this much awaiting Filipino Bloggers Worldwide Event – the Filipino Bloggers Worldwide 1st Grand Eyeball at the SM Megatrade Hall 2. This was the first event that I attended for the sake of my blog. I’ve never been to any event like this before where I’ve seen my fellow bloggers rubbing elbows with each other, and I didn’t imagine that it was really fun!

Ejomlexus_FBW_01

20121207_215331

I registered and got my invitation to this event a couple weeks ago. I was actually nervous. I thought it would be a very intimidating event because, you know, I would be with the Philippine’s famous bloggers – you know, mine is just one of the blogs somewhere out there. Good thing, my friend Ron, blogger of Nite Writer, was also coming so we went there together.

Venue

Unfortunately, I wasn’t the early bird – thanks to the Friday night heavy traffic – I was there just right on time.  Venue was held at the 5th floor SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 2.

I was expecting a few people to come but I’ve seen and met a lot of big time bloggers from the FBW group on Facebook. I’ve seen plenty of sponsors too. It’s too many to mention but I’ve recognized Ystillo (by Vina Morales), the thirst-quenching tea by Share Tea and the prize I was eyeing for, Manny O. wines.

The event was hosted by Admin Franc and the funny Ness who always noticed me laughing hard. They are the bloggers of “http://nessmercader.tumblr.com” and “http://francramon.com” and the people I mostly see on our Facebook group and my twitter feeds. At the beginning of the event, they introduced the sponsors and the admin of FBW and also the super early bird of the event.

Food

Tasty buffet food was also served…

Plus, I get to enjoy the Share Tea’s Winter Melon and one of our bloggers’ cute little cupcakes! Unfortunately, there was no mochi. I was little expecting for it, but it was okay. :p

Highlights, Awards, Prizes and Giveaways.

One of the purposes I went there is to grab knowledge from co-bloggers on how to get blogs known. Fortunately, Jason Cruz of MRM gave us helpful insights on teaching bloggers how to blog. That was a short speech but it opens a lot of idea bulb on top of my head.

3. PonderingPaodaolei

Food That I Missed So Much :)

All I could think about in my rest day was to eat. And the food I just dug in were the things I missed so much.

This one was a slice of Sansrival cake from Goldilocks – I usually order this on my birthday, but since October is way too far, I gave myself an early treat.

Next is Gummyworms. I’m a big fan of gummy candies. I love it’s fruity, sour taste. It gives me *kilig* every time I eat it. Sugar helps me my brain function, by the way.

In the red corner, well, it’s McDonald’s Big ‘N Tasty. I’ve tasted it once and I ordered it again. It is not actually that really big and tasty, but it’s enough to occupy the spaces in my tummy.

On the other hand, Chicken Balls – I rarely see Manong Fishball alongside the streets of Antipolo. I don’t know if people are afraid of Hepatitis or they are just invisible when I’m around. That’s why I bought a couple of packs of these fingerlings.

Finally, Pik-Nik: Shoestrings and Nescafe Sweet and Creamy. You know that I love coffee, while Pik-Nik was my old childhood sweetheart amount all the snacks in the market. I’ve been with this couple since I was a kid.

I just crave for them all of a sudden, but now, *whoalah* crave satisfied.

Anti-Stress: Happylemon Teas

I was stressed in the past few weeks for finding a new job. I left my previous company because I needed to sustain and I couldn’t wait for them to recall me from being temporarily laid-off for almost a month. Aside from that, I have new plans like to travel to some places in Southeast Asia and to buy new stuff for our house – and I need money to fulfill those.

While I was looking for a job I hanged-out with my friends at Happylemon (SM Megamall Branch). I felt the need for thirst quenchers and to bond with flavoured teas because, as I’ve said, I was really stressed.

Thankfully, our Happylemon day was really a soothing experience, enough for me to say that their featured teas were worth paying for. It was, actually, my first time to taste the most natural blueberry flavoured milk tea in my life, and when you say natural blueberry flavour, that means it was really and awesomely sour.

Tea prices are affordable and really worth it, and that lessen my stress too. If you experience it, you would really say that you have to come back to the store. You have to try it if you haven’t visited the shop.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Starbucks Time!

Have you enjoyed last month’s happy hours? Well, I enjoyed the half-priced frapp a lot.

Now, here’s something for the 2012 planner holders. Please be reminded that this is the promo for the month of June.

image

You’ll get to enjoy a free tall size brewed coffee when you present the coupon inclusive in your planners (like the one in the picture) and purchase Starbucks Kape Vinta or a Philippine Collector Series merchandise — mug, tumbler or Barista Bear. Cool treat for you and for a friend.

Don’t you guys forget to use your coupon, okay?

Instagram 101 — part 2

To be honest, I’m starting to love Instagram. It goes well with my Camer360 shots. I didn’t know the two would be a great combination.

And before I write something about Instagram as a social network site, here are some of my sample shots:

I used Nashville effect in most of the photos; my favorite.

By the way, above is our new puppy, Sanchai. She was a gift from one of our neighbors. I ain’t familiar with her breed, since I wasn’t at home when she was given to us. She’s very cute, though, isn’t she?

Power of Megapixel – Holy Week

Holyweek was a blast. Although my mood was not that boombastic as the long weekend, I still managed to do some stuff to keep lenten season a bit solemn. What I did is that I put it all in pictures…

You know, pictures are quiet — no sound, no motion.

image

image

This chicken here. Well, he was a super model. I got this perfect while he was observing what I’m doing.

image

image

image

Friends also visited us at home. So we had a good time together and been to the church to pray.

image

Here was a shot from inside an FX (cab). I was on my way home from work.

image

These two? I know I should’ve got rid of this during the week. But these were my thirst quenchers and I have already asked for forgiveness about this.

To tell you what, I’m still tired because of that long walk. I just drew some stuff on my sketch pad just to make my whole being relaxed.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Chicago Candy

image

I miss when I call you my candy
And the taste of iodize shot on your body
At the midnight jazz club
— that’s where you left me.

Your sweetness-coated embraces took me.
I never experienced hangover, baby.
As people go partying,
We took the moment talking.

Oh Chicago, I miss you so!
I want that candy you gave me.
I want that sweetness that made me crazy.
Oh Chicago, Im so sorry for leaving!
I didn’t want let you go
But, baby, it’s yours… so take it — Chicago Candy.

Others weren’t as sweet as you are
But you’re the one who can make me a real man.
And beat what you have done
At the midnight jazz club

You cut the cigar from my mouth, oh
Baby, you left me alone here
While crying and begging
For you, my Chicago candy!

Oh Chicago, I miss you so!
I want that candy you gave me.
Oh Chicago, sorry for leaving!
I would let go of that candy
It’s yours, so take it!

Magnum Ice Cream Craze

There’s a craze growing in the market these days. It’s not about a mall’s clearance sale and it ain’t about the latest episode of American idol. To tell you what, it’s all about an ice cream on stick called Magnum.

I ain’t really a fan of ice cream on stick. But with this ice cream, nom-nom-nom I’d go crazy. Well, not that crazy.

image

I became interested of Magnum because it’s the word of mouth of everybody. My friends talk about it. My officemates talk about it. Even the jeepney and cab driver talk about it. And the craze doesn’t stop only here in the Philippines; it’s world wide. That’s why to know what they’re talking about, I’d tried one.

Actually, Magnum has 3 flavors so far here in the Philippines: classic, chocolate truffles and almond. But if I’m going to refer to the list there’s actually more than 30 flavors. And for everybody’s information, it was 1987 when Uniliver started selling this delactable ice cream on stick. I’ve chose the almond flavor for my first try. And to tell you, I was pretty impressed especially with the belgan chocolate coating. I feel like eating cadberry or toblerone. It doesn’t melt fast like any other ice cream, which is what I like.

image

I talked to Andrei’s cousin via Skype, and she was enjoying Magnum too. Unfortunately, the Mochaccino is not available here at the moment. I will just try the other flavors just to get the experience.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Featured Site #2

On checklist:

I’m done with Bryanboy’s blog. Everyone from the fashion industry knows him already for his wonderful reviews, of course, about fashion.

I’m also done with my Tyrene’s The Ellis Effect site. I featured some of her make-up artistry works that made you guys mesmerized. Click here to revisit.

Next I’m gonna feature is…Rakee’s blog. Yipee!

Yeah, that’s her Blog name. And it’s more like about us – you know, we certainly love eating and gaming. And both are really addicting (I bet you all agree), especially when we’re doing both at the same time.

Rakee’s blog is very simple yet elucidative. I always visit it to know what’s on her dinning table every day, plus, I get to know what’s happening to her life as a gamer too – she’s a fan of Perfect World, one of my favorite MMORPG.

Aside from that, what I love about her blog are the DISCOUNTS AND FREEBIES!

She’s not giving away anything, though. She just always features websites that give away coupon codes and discounts for food and everything, and restaurant updates as well, which is very helpful for me as a resto digger. In fact, it was on her blog where I found out that Max’s Chicken-All-You-Can is back. And that makes me go want to go out of the office right now and hell go to Max’s restaurant to dig in some delicious fried chicken. Har Har Har!

Anyways, speaking of chicken, I believe she’s also a good cook. Check this Chicken Aloha recipe all made by her.

And another chicken, chicken mushroom

Now, this makes me hungry. I guess, that’s it… visit her blog at http://geekeeme.blogspot.com/

See you all!

XOXOXOXO

Satisfied Or Not Satisfied?

I don’t quite remember how in the hell did I get myself into this world of internet marketing when all I know is that I enjoy my life as a Team Leader of that food supplement account when they took me out of my seat saying “Hey! We’re gonna get you for the next level of your career!” Then a few minutes later, whoalah! I bec

Right now I click and check on different websites everyday to see if we can use it on creating ads, trying to earn money from it.

Well, probably I say this because it’s just I’m not ready to take my career to another level. But that’s life! You sometimes don’t know if any of your dreams are already coming right in your front door, surprising you with a boom, and catching you unprepared.  But then, just like before, I will try to get used to it even though I feel somehow not ready to take this leap.

Anyways, I ain’t here to discuss my career plans with you (not yet).

I posted this blog, because I feel this picture kind of disturbing for me.

See?

I found this when I was checking a series of websites in the net for my job.

Well, it’s not the product or its price that is disturbing. But, no offense, I think it’s grandpa who made this picture a bit part those of the funny TV commercials, except he’s just a life-size picture.

If I were to ask you, would you still buy this product? 😛

For A Change? Eat a Lot!

I’m a bit tired of gaming right now. No, I’m not going to quit, but I just want a long vacation from this in-game stuff. I need to focus on some other things like eating, sleeping and eating…and, of course, eating.

Recently, I had hot forage with hardboiled egg from “frizzpoint” in Makati.

All I can say is that after eating lots of non-economical and unhealthy food from the fast food chain, it’s nice to find myself eating again these Filipino invigorating food.

And what more you can say for a nice chocolate dessert?

Well, it’s dirt cheap. See the price? It didn’t even hit Php50.00 (a dollar). I’ll ask my mom to cook more Filipino food for launch today. Hope she’s in the mood to get that fry pan moving.

See yah, kiddies!

Interlude: I Got a New Blender Plus Exp Mod

I’m planning to make my very own lotion…

I already ordered the ingredients I want on the internet, and all I need now is to wait for the shipment and save some cash for the custom fee.

Also, I bought a new Blender. I’ll be using this for my lotion creation too. But right now, I will use it for its original purpose — to blend fruits, milk and ice for a delicious fruit shakes.

PS

Flyff update – since flyff exp mod is extended..I’ll be training my character first, then give you the tips on how to become a good Chiksilog.

See yah, kiddies!

My Starbucks 2011 Planner

I mentioned to you guys that I am traditionally collecting Starbucks stickers to get a year planner.

Last night, after torturing my kidney and bladder, I have finally completed the stickers. Yehey!

At 4AM: Starbucks Breakfast

How much calories do you I think I can get from this breakfast?

Hmm…can’t guess? Well, I can’t make a guess too. And probably, Starbucks won’t tell me.

It was 4AM when I took this picture and I was in Starbuck Valero alone and writing my draft.

I didn’t have work today; I was just waiting for SOMEONE because we’re about to go and fetch our other friends in different places.

Why so early?

Well, my friends are Catholic, and today is the last day of their 9 mornings church thing. They just asked me to come along with them to complete the gang.

As I wait for them, I wrote the draft of this blog on my handy-dandy-note book which I bought at national bookstore for a cheap price.

Anyways, look at me… I look so d@rn… @#$%^!!!

Of course, I just woke up! From whose bed? You should never know. Ha!

Good bye, people! See yah again!

I need Perpetual Mercy, Diabetes.

Sigh! Starbucks has already launch their Christmas edition cups and promos. And as a tradition, we’re all collecting stickers now for the sake of next year’s planner and helping the coffee farmers around the globe.

All of a sudden, my sweet tooth came back, and it’s giving me the hell freaking toothache and wallet-ache.

(Yeah, that’s my newest term: “Wallet-ache!”)

Well, I just kept on ordering the yummy and my all-time favourite Black Forest cheesecake from my friend Alvin. That’s why I run out of cash fast. (click this link for more info about his store)

Where Have I Been?

2 days gone, I finally just got home! Sigh! After all, at last I got a chance to see my beloved PC!!!

Yesterday, My Mom and I have been to the clinic for our Annual Physical Exam. Well, they just took some blood and other things you-never-want-to-know-what from me so they could test it and see if there are something wrong with our health. Thank God everything went clear. The clinic didn’t find any abnormalities in our bodies except that I really need to gain a little bit more of weight.

Then earlier, my friend treated me for cake for some other reason. We went to LevelUpGames office, and took the FlyFF-PH installer. In the few days of playing of FlyFF International (GPotato), I suddenly feel the crave for our local Flyff. I don’t know why. Probably, I really want to taste the challenge in the Filipino servers.

After Parkour Training

My Parkour training went well today.

We are almost done with the lectures about the rolling, jumping and landing. I volunteered to try it in front of everybody, and thank God my bones didn’t crack. My co-newbies had fun too.

Anyways, I was tired and it was just 10:30AM. I needed to stay awake for my whole day [house] activities and for my Encantadia YouTube Marathon. Although I had my breakfast, my tummy got hungry because of all those basic parkour things. Imagine the calories I burned in this kind of sport.

Of course, I went to Starbucks to grab my yummy faves…

Interlude: Refreshing Coconut Water

Replenished! After the whole midnight jogging, I am now so replenished. This coconut water slash sports drink my friend gave me has given so much energy.

At first, I thought it was one of the Chinese products but I found out its imported from the US of A. When I found that out, I asked for another one so I could bring it home and have my Mom taste it.

Well, right now, my taste bud is still craving for more coconut water.  I ain’t sure if this product called O.N.E is all ready available at the 7-11 convenience store near here. I guess I’ll just buy the real and fresh one from the coconut vendor a few hours from now.

Moi can’t wait to see the sunlight.

Loving Dark Chocolate

Who wants to live forever young?

Of course, I’ll be the first to raise my hand and shout, “Me! Me! Me!” like a kid.  Eh, who doesn’t want to live forever young? There’s no one, right?

Most of us have already accepted the fact that we’ll die someday. But the thing I won’t accept is to grow old and die ugly. Definitely I know that you’ll agree with me.

You said impossible?

Well, we all know that smiling in the entire day won’t help you that much to prevent those wrinkles and frown lines from coming out, but one secret I discovered while doing my voluntary habit — reading the back label of the products – and that is eating Dark Chocolate!

Yeah, according to some experts, it may really prevent those signs of aging from saying hello.

How?
